Alexander Mora was appointed Minister of Foreign Trade of Costa Rica on 8 May 2014. Among his responsibilities are the trade and investment promotion agenda of his country as well as the relationships with several multilateral organizations, such as WTO, OECD, and SIECA, among others.
Minister Mora has broad knowledge on trade, banking and digital technologies. Firstly, as an entrepreneur and successful businessman, with over 25 years’ experience in digital technologies, telecommunications and corporate services. He represented Costa Rica on the United Nations Committee on Science and Technology for Development. Furthermore he has been a member of the Foreign Trade Advisory Council, the National Committee on Information and Communication Technologies and the Competitiveness Committee of Costa Rica. He was also President and Vice President of the Costa Rica Chamber, and the Latin American Federation of Information and Communication Technologies, the Chamber of Exporters of Costa Rica, Director, Vice President and President of the Boards of several banks, as well as of insurance brokers and investment fund management companies.
Mr. Mora is an economist and holds a Master’s Degree in Banking and Finance from the Universidad de Costa Rica.see all Speakers
