Centro Cultural CCK
Sarmiento 151, CABA, C1041AAE, Argentina
It was planned at the end of the 19th Century as the Mail and Telegraph Office and opened in 1928. After being declared a National Historic Landmark, it was turned into a cultural centre in 2016.
CCK is a building of over 100 thousand square metres, with state-of-the-art technology and rooms and halls to cater for a broad range of cultural events. Among its main attractions are a symphonic orchestra hall as well as a chamber orchestra hall and a huge blue ball hanging from the ceiling. The "blue ball" was created by an artist called Julio Le Parc and emulates a big lamp made up of three thousand little pieces of acrylic, supported by a Vierendeel truss.
Depicting the splendour of the building you will find multiple-use areas and foyers, as well as meeting facilities, conference rooms and exhibition halls, together with rooms for showing videos, located on the 4th, 5th and 6th floors, six all told, holding up to a maximum of 100 people each.
This time the meeting will take place in the Symphonic Orchestra Hall called "The Blue Whale" because its huge oval structure, standing on legs, looks like a whale. It is one of the most striking areas of the building, with excellent acoustics and a 3500-pipe, 46-stop organ, especially designed in Germany by Klais.
Ramps and elevators for mobility-impaired people.
No parking space on-site.
